Perfect Gift
This was a commisson painting that I did a few years ago.
James Chapter 1 verse 17
Every good and perfect gift
is from above
and cometh down from
The Father of lights,
with whom is no variableness,
neither shadow of turning.

Think of all the wonderful gifts that have been poured down to us from the Father of lights, Our Father in Heaven. He gives so graciously to us, who often are not worthy to receive. He loves us so much that He loves to bless us with perfect gifts. I thank you Heavenly Father for all the marvellous gifts you have given me, my family, my health, my food, my shelter, my friends, my work the list is undending like your goodness to me is never-ending. Thank you Heavenly Father. Amen.

It makes us think when we read these words in the Bible, each edition says things a bit differently but in essence they still mean the same.
Like it says in the Bible – with God there is no shadow of turning. So it is good to count our Blessings. He does not take them back, once He has given them to us.
There is one of course that likes to rob us of our blessings and we all know who that is.
Let us walk in truth and righteousness and treasure the good things that we have, apart from our family etc, there may be a special gift that a friend has given us. There is always something to be grateful for even when we are going through difficult times, it is then that we need to focus on the gift of Jesus that God sent into the world for our sakes.

Evil is not Good.
Psalm 5 verse 4
You are not a God
who takes pleasure in evil,
with you
the wicked cannot dwell.

As Christians let us not take pleasure in any of the evil things in the world. If we continue to be wicked, we know that we cannot live in the Kingdom of God because He hates evil.. God loves us but does not like any of our evil ways. So let us get rid of anything that is not pleasing to God if we can today.

What may we be doing today that God our Father in Heaven would not be happy with. I am not really sure about that, maybe during the day we may get angry with someone, or we may swear (i.e. use bad language), some people seem to need to steal things, some do the opposite of what they are asked to do just to be in charge of the situation.
There seems to be a lot of evil in the world – if you look around or watch or listen to the News.
We cannot just look at the evil in the world
and not look at our own sins for the day.
Let us try to help each other now and in the coming weeks, the thing that God says in The Word (in the Bible) is ‘to love one another as He has loved us’
Well it is worth a try – to share a kind word – with whoever we meet today.
I hope we have a lovely Day sharing the Love of God, so that our evil ways – our sinful ways- do not have a hold on us.
We need to take one day at a time.
That is the best most of us can do.

a tight rein on his tongue,

Today let us be extra careful of the words we use, a good thought is to not use any derogatory words or negative words. We really must try hard to keep a tight rein on our tongue, if we use uplifting words it should make all the difference to those who come before us today. Especially those who need a kind word from someone.

When we speak to someone we need to remember that we cannot retract the words that are said. We all know what it is like to think that we should not have said something maybe in haste or in an argument that we dearly regretted afterwards.
But there we are, if we are able to apologize that is good, the thing is though we need to confess our sin to God our Heavenly Father and ask Jesus to forgive us. Only then can we have peace of mind when we know that we are forgiven.
Then we must act as if we are
forgiven
and
put on a happy face.
Let us ask God to put a tight rein on our tongue today, especially if we feel we need to confront someone for any reason.

Well there we are….how well do we LISTEN…..to our earthly fathers instruction…..not always very well do we because then off we go to do our own thing. Not always to our advantage might I say.!
So this makes me think – how well do we LISTEN to God our Heavenly Father.
It is hard to LISTEN to God with so much going on in our lives. However if we can find a time each day to sit and read part of our Bible then is the time we can sit quietly and LISTEN when we have prayed for something or someone special. We may not get the answer we want but be assured that if you are a Christian then God has heard your prayers. So then we wait for His will to be done in the situation that we are praying for.
God Bless you today as you try to LISTEN to God our Heavenly Father.

A Gift of Love?
St. Luke Chapter 3 verse 11
John answered,
“The man with two tunics
should share with him who has none
and the one who has food
should do the same”

Is there anyone today that you can bless with a gift, it’s lovely to be able to share. I don’t mean an expensive gift. There may be someone near you who is unemployed, disabled, sick or in need of even a nice loaf of bread, biscuits, cake an item of clothing. The main thing is when you share, it is a gift of love. As Christians we can bring a lot of pleasure to those in need and it could be a chance to share the Gospel.

Just think a gift of love can be just offering a cup of tea to someone. Or to invite them out for morning or afternoon tea especially to ask someone who you may know that is lonely. Even a young mum with a child can be lonely for someone to share and talk with. Other than that there could be an older person you sometimes say ‘Hello’ to while shopping who lives quite near to you. You could extend the ‘Hello’ to stand still instead of walking on and just ask ‘how are you’ or words to that effect.
You may be the only person who speaks to them today – so what a gift of love it is to share, to let them know that you care enough even just to say a few words. Before walking on just say ‘God Bless you’
Yes we can even phone a friend to say ‘Hello’ if we have not seen them for a while and ask how they are. Then before putting the phone down say ‘God Bless You’
Even this is an act of Love to find time to do that.
So I say
‘God Bless You Today’

Husband & Wife
1 Corinthians: Chapter 7 verses 2-3
But since there is so much immorality,
each man should have his own wife
and each woman her own husband.
The husband should fulfil his maritial duty
to his wife
and likewise the wife to her husband,
the wife’s body does not belong to her alone
but also to her husband.

This is pretty awesome when you think about it and is quite profound, we really should take note and act in the way that we were made regarding husband and wife.

Well there is not much we can say about the above reading except that we need to be willing to obey God’s Word……I know that we can’t all have a Husband or Wife but for those that do it is a blessing to read and understand the meaning of the above.
God didn’t put that in the Bible just for something to say – He really meant it and what a blessing it is to be a Christian in the Kingdom of God here on earth. To have someone to love and for them to love back in return.
I Pray that you have a lovely Day and for anyone that is not a Christian reading this all you have to do to become one is to ask Jesus to come into your life (your heart) tell Him you are sorry for all the wrong things you have done and really mean that you want Jesus in your life.……and guess what? He will be there with you, with God the Father and the Holy Spirit (that is the Spirit of Jesus).
Just remember that we were all sinners
before we invited Jesus
into our lives to become Christians.

As this is a new day today, let us choose to walk in Peace and Joy if we can with our families and friends. When we get a New Day it is good to think what are we going to do with it?????????
We do really have a choice – sometimes we think we don’t have, if we are feeling ill or lonely or neglected – but we still can make a choice not to be a victim even in those circumstances. We can try to find JOY in something during the day. Even to cuddle the cat, pat the dog, read a book, sit in the sun or eat something nice.
Today is to be lived,
tomorrow – today, will be gone.
Well what are you going to do today? It says in the Bible it is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness, peace and joy in The Holy Spirit.
If you are a Christian The Holy Spirit is with you and can help you to walk in JOY today – he does like you to ask Him though.
I pray you have a lovely day walking in the Love of Jesus.
Soar in the Heavenlies with Joy in your heart.

Are we Proud ?
Psalm 131 verse 1
My hearty is not proud, O LORD,
my eyes are not haughty;
I do not concern myself with great matters
or things
too wonderful for me.

If only we could say this today and mean it! Can I really say that my heart is not proud, that my eyes are not haughty. Can I really say that I do not concrn myself with things that I shouldn’t? I would like to think so but sometimes it is a fearful thing to ask The LORD to search our hearts about these matters isn’t it? So today LORD I do ask you to show me and help me to overcome the things that I need to overcome. By your grace only can I do it, with the help of The Holy Spirit – The Spirit of Jesus.

Do we have any Proud thoughts about ourselves? Maybe we think we are better than other people, perhaps we think we are much better than our friends in the way we dress or eat or drink or even that our thoughts are more spiritual than those we meet up with in Church……..Well be had better watch out because God is watching us as we are watching them.
This could be a challenge for us today – to begin to think ( where we are at ? ) when we try to compare ourselves with others.
Dosn’t sound a good idea to take up the challenge but if we have a spirit of Pride in us – well we best get rid of it don’t you think. Amen.
I Pray that you have a lovely Day getting rid of Pride and not worring about things too wonderful to comprehend.
Just Rest in The Lord Jesus – give Him all your cares and worries today.

A Special Son
Matthew: Chapter 1 verse 21.
She will give birth to a Son
and you are to give him the name
Jesus,
because he will save his people
from their sins.

I am so glad that Mary was obedient, because if she had not given birth to Jesus where would you and I be today? It does not bear to think about it! Praise God today for the birth of Jesus who also was obedient to Our Heavenly Father to the extent of dying on The Cross for yours and my sins. I Praise you Heavenly Father that you allowed Your only Son Jesus to come to earth to save us from certain death. Thank You that we choose the 25th. December to celebrate the Birth of Jesus Christ our Lord being born on this earth. Amen.

All of us as Christians know this story above. How would you feel if you had to give up your Son to save someone. We really could not do that could we? Or maybe it would be a Daughter that you could be asked to give up to save someone. Both Sons and Daughters are very precious to us. Just think how much we love them and then concider just how much God loves us that He gave His only Son to come to Earth for our sakes. That is incredible and our human brains cannot fathom out the great love that God has for us his people.
Jesus was obedient to His Father in Heaven and all Power on earth is given to Him.
So He can confidently say in the Bible John: Chapter 14 verse 6.
(No one comes to the Father except by me)
Now is the time if you have not done so already to ask Jesus to come into your heart – your life, if you would like to go to Heaven when your body dies.
All you have to do (if you do not know already) is to repent of your sins (that is to tell God you are sorry for all the wrong things you have done) and ask Jesus to forgive you. Then you can invite Him in – and yes He will be with you.
Unless you ask Him He will not be part of your life – He does not go where He is not wanted.
So think of all the blessings you will miss out on if you do not invite Him to be with you.

Pledged to be Married
Matthew: Chapter 1 verse 18.
This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about:
His Mother Mary was pledged to be married
to Joseph but before they came together,
she was found be be with child through
The Holy Spirit.

Mary must have been a beautiful young woman spiritually to be so obedient to God saying yes to what He asked of her. How many of us can truly say that we are obedient to submit ourselves to the ways of The LORD? Dear LORD God I pray today that I may be more obedient to your voice and not to my own wants. In being obedient to you I kow that you will be a blessing me even more than I can ever imagine. Thank you for Mary the Mother of my Saviour – Jesus Christ my Lord. Amen.

It makes you think dosn’t it – what would we do in the same situation that Mary was in. She must have only been about 16yrs. old or somewhere in her teenage years. Now adays most teenagers would laugh at the idea but – if an Angel appeared before them what ever would they do? Most probably faint on the spot or try to run. But Mary listened to the Angel and what a blessing for us that she did, so that now we can invite Jesus into our hearts into our lives and know that in Eternity we can be with God our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ if indeed we do invite Him to be Lord of our Life.
Just think how beautiful the Angels must be in the Heavenly Realm.
