Guard my Mouth

SecretDoor

Drawing of an old old Roman Doorway.

————-

Psalm 141 verse 3

Set a guard over my mouth,

O LORD;

 Keep watch over the door of my lips.

Sometimes I think it is a good thing to ask The LORD to put a guard over my mouth to stop me saying something wrong and then wishing that I had not said it.  As Christians we must be very careful what we say to others so that we do not offend them because in doing so we offend God if we do not speak righteously.  Today please God guard my mouth, the door of my lips and my speaking.  Amen.

Why put a drawing of an old Roman Doorway on here…….well as you may know they were very very large for horses and carriages to go through.

The doorway of our heart is our mouth…..our tongue especially is the instrument that speaks.

 Mostly as you can imagine our tongue is untamed.

So we need to tame our tongue, lets face it we can never do that on our own.  The best idea is to ask The Lord to help us to speak in the way that He would prefer us to speak to others.

i.e. to encourage and not put them down.

But no, we have to have our say – whatever it may be with not a thought sometimes how it will affect the person we are talking to.

We should remember that:  out of the Heart the Mouth speaks.

When we speak – people will often know what we are thinking in our heart.  Our tongue is very unruly sometimes and it is good to pray now and then to ask God if He would put a guard over the door of our mouth.

I pray that God will tame my tongue and guard the door of my mouth how about you, would you like to do that?

* If you do – I pray that your tongue will Bless someone today *
