It’s good to make Music !

Angel with Trumpet

Psalm: 92 verse 1

It is good to praise The LORD

and

make music

to your name,

O Most High.

*

The Lord Jesus and God our Father loves to hear music either by singing or by playing an instrument.  If you are not gifted to play a musical instrument them lift up your voice and sing.  You cannot say you cannot sing because God gave you your voice and He loves to hear it, so sing in your house, sing in the bath or shower, sing in the car but best of all sing in the congregation.

From the book: ‘Drink from the Cup of Heavenly Blessings’ by J.M.R. Larman.

*

Singing Lady

Well – can you Sing Today?

?

Maybe you do not feel like singing, so perhaps you can put on some special Music that you like.

In your own home you can be free to dance and sing on your own or with your family.

If you have a small child what better way to interact than to hold their little hands dance around with them and sing.

If you are an older person look up some of the old Hymns that you used to like and sing quietly to The Lord in your Prayer Time…….remember you still have a singing voice in their somewhere.  You may surprise yourself that your song sounds very nice.

Everyone likes some sort of Music so put on the sort that you especially like or that you can sing to.

There is a time and place for different kinds of Music during the course of our day (or days)

* Have a lovely Day today *

May God Bless you with the Voice that He has given you.

Remember Mary?

Mother& Child

The above is a drawing I did of the Madonna & Child.

Matthew Chapter 1 Verse 18

This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about:

His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph

but

before they came together,

she was found to be with child

through The Holy Spirit.

*****

Mary must have been a beautiful young woman spiritually to be so obedient to God saying YES to what He asked of her.  How many of us can truly say that we are obedient to submit ourselves to the ways of The LORD?   Dear LORD God I pray today that I may be more obedient to your voice and not to my own wants.  In being obedient to you I know that you will be blessing me even more than I can ever imagine.  Thank you for Mary the Mother of my Saviour – Jesus Christ my Lord.  Amen.

From the book ‘Drink from the Cup’ by. J.M.R.Larman.

Oil Painting of Jesus as (The Good Shepherd)

Well – do we remember about Mary the Mother of Jesus – what has been written in the Holy Bible?  She must have been a remarkable young woman.  Maybe only around sixteen years of age.  I don’t think she would have been out drinking and doing drugs like some young people (and older ones) are doing now in this world that we live in.

If we could put ourselves in Mary’s shoes – whatever would we think, how would we cope with our everyday living knowing as she did that God had planted His one and only Son into her womb?  Also she was engaged to be married, imagine telling her husband to be what had happened to her.

It could not have been easy for her.

If you are a man reading this your thoughts may have been the same as Joseph who she was engaged to – until of course the Angel told him what had happened.

So you see there is quite a lot to consider when we think of Mary – the Mother of our Lord Jesus who is my Saviour and I pray  that He is yours too.

As it is now getting near to Christmas I believed this would give us food for thought.

* God Bless You over this Christmas Time *

Be Still

Rocky Pool

This “Oil Painting” is of ‘Rocky Pool’ that I painted,     it is in Carnarvon. Western Australia.

***

Psalm 46 verse 10

“Be still and know that I am God;

I will be exalted among the nations,

I will be exalted in the earth”

***

Have you ever sat still for a while and felt the presence of God.  Be still and know.  That is what He wants us to do.  As we sit with the The Holy Spirit how lovely is the presence of God.

From the Book ‘Drink from the Cup’ by: J.M.R. Larman.

***

I did hear quite a long time ago that someone asked how could they feel the presence and peace of the Lord as it had never seemed to work even though they sat and waited.

Well….the advise they were given didn’t seem to be very good but they thought they would give it a go.

So that evening they turned off the television, the radio etc., and sat quietly in the lounge room.   They were told to just sit and look around the room, thank the Lord for just being able to sit and look around at what ever was in the room.  Thank Him in their heart for the day, for anyone they had met or for where they had been if they had been out of the house.  To look at their special things in the room remembering if necessary any one who had given them anything that was there.  Just to sit and thank The Lord for the day and for just being able to sit and pray or not to pray but just to sit and be quiet.  No need to get up and rush around, also no need to ask or feel anything -just to sit.

After a while, the person felt such peace sitting alone in the room, something they had never really felt before.

It was a revelation to know that they had not even had to strive and ask for the Presence of The Lord to be with them but in the quietness of their heart they just felt The Peace of The Lord.  It was so lovely they just wanted to stay in what they then knew was the Presence of The Lord.

The Peace of The Lord is beyond our understanding.

No Shame

Sheep P and Ink

My Pen & Ink Drawing – the face says it all in regard to the passage below.

——–

Isaiah: Chapter 50 verse 7

Because the Sovereign LORD helps me,

I will not be disgraced.

Therefore have I set my face like flint

and

I know I will not be put to shame.

*****

Know today that The LORD will help you in all circumstances.  You do not have to open your mouth to those who oppose you, pray to The LORD our God and He will vindicate you.  Stand firm in your faith knowing that He is near.

From book: ‘Drink from the Cup’ by –  J.M.R.Larman

Snowflake.colouranimation

Well what do we do usually when someone opposes us?

Mainly I think we usually like to retaliate when we are sure we are in the right.

But how much better it would be if we kept quiet and listened to whoever is trying to tell us we are wrong.

We do not have to say a word until they are finished talking then think about what they have been saying.

If we still are sure we are correct, then we can thank them and say that we must beg to differ on the subject.

That really means – we can set our face like flint and we are not put to shame in regard to the problem that has arisen between us.

*****

It is very hard to keep the peace sometimes but we do need to try.

Blessings of the Upright

cvon-sunset

Proverbs: Chapter 11 verse 11

Through the blessing of the upright

a city is exalted

but

by the mouth of the wicked

it is destroyed.

*****

Just think right where you are, you can be a blessing to the city or town that you live in.  In your own community you can be a blessing, by praying and being in the love of Jesus day by day.  We are not all called to go out to be a prominent person in our community but by prayer and supplication we as Christians can make a great difference in the city around us.  Today let us pray for the place that we live in, for peace to prevail and for the mouth of the wicked to be cleansed.

Taken from the book ‘Drink from the Cup’ by J.M.R.Larman.

So the above gives us food for thought to begin to pray for where-ever we are living at the moment.

We can pray for the people that live around us – for them to be nice to each other, to give help when needed especially to  the young Mums and Dads and the older people in the town.

Young people do not need us to interfere with their way of bringing up their children but we can at least pray for them to have wisdom in the decisions that they have to make in our ever changing world.

As for the older people in our town let us pray especially for good health for them and help given where they need it most.

These things are not too hard for us to do because some of us cannot just go out and alter things that we see need to be done in our towns but to pray is something special that as Christians we really need to be doing.

We shall see results of our prayer sometimes and that is a good thing to encourage us to carry on caring for the place where we are living.

cvon-sunset

May God Bless us today as we pray for the place where we are living at the moment.

Are we Humble?

100_5725

1 Peter: Chapter 5 verse 6

Humble yourselves,

therefore,  under God’s mighty hand,

that He may lift you up in due time.

*****

Do you realize that when we do humble ourselves, to God – He does lift us up out of what ever situation we are in.  If only we would remember and pray more humbly and quickly when we are in a difficult situation we shall be delivered out of it much sooner.

Taken from the Book: ‘Drink from the Cup’ by J.M.R. Larman.

*****

DogRoseOrange

So are we HUMBLE – WHAT DOES IT MEAN? –

Well it could mean being modest, meek, respectful, also other things of course.

But to start off with it makes us think – are we being respectful of our elders, our friends and especially respectful of our own children and brothers and sisters?

It is not easy to be HUMBLE – we cannot always easily be MEEK, we want things our own way, likewise how about being MODEST?.  Modest could mean to dress appropriately for whatever circumstances we are going to be in for the day. To be clean and tidy in our appearance.  Also not to show off parts of our body in an unholy way.  To show respect for other peoples feelings.

Let us be humble enough to listen while others talk to us, not to keep interrupting and putting words into their mouths. Wait to hear what they are really saying – not what we think they are saying……we may even learn something from them.

Today: let us practice being HUMBLE

Have a lovely day today – may The Lord Jesus  help us all to be more humble in our daily living…..that of course means myself as well as other Christians.

* GOD BLESS YOU *

Listen Today

2GlowBookGlasses2

Proverbs: Chapter 1 verse 8

Listen,  my son,

to your father’s instruction

and do not forsake

your mother’s teaching.

*****

How much more do we need to listen to Our Father in Heaven, who teaches us through the Word.  Are you going to read or have you already read any of God’s Word in your Bible today?

Taken from the book: ‘Drink from the Cup’ by: J.M.R.Larman.

*****

Let us just think for a moment – it is good to listen to our father even though we may not always agree with what he says.  It is special for us if we do have an earthly father even though he may not be who would like him to be.

Some fathers in this world are just incredible and others may even need our help – however they are family – we belong to them and they belong to us.  When in trouble most times we can go to our father for help or just to talk to him and sometime pour out our troubles to him.

But what joy it is when we can share our special joy’s and achievements with our earthly father.

Regarding the Scripture above – we can listen to our fathers instuctions or his help, as the case may be and also remember our mother is someone who can teach us many things.

Well what has this to do with Our Father in Heaven then?

Do you know that we can talk and come to God our Heavenly Father in much the same way as we can to our earthly father and mother.  The difference is that God Loves us even more than we can comprehend – He loves our earthly fathers and mothers and wants us to honour them by sometimes just to listen to what they have to say – even though many times we may not agree with what they think or say.

To LISTEN is a special thing to do even with our family and friends.  Also it is surprising what we can learn if only we will keep quiet for a while and just LISTEN to whoever wants to talk to us.

Flawless ?

Cup Red Ani1

Psalm 12 verse 6

And the words of The Lord

are flawless,

like silver

refined in a furnace of clay,

purified seven times.

***

What about our words  –  could we say they are flawless, I think not, most of the time we are very careless with our words.  Let us ask The Holy Spirit to speak through us and help us to curb our tongue, so that we may be more purified in our speaking.

Taken from book: ‘Drink from the Cup’ by J.M.R.Larman.

***

Singing Lady

Well that is a bit of a big problem about our words being flawless.

Flawless means:  a mark, blemish, or other imperfection.

So how does that relate to our speech – maybe because we are careless in speaking unholy words i.e. swear words, words that wound the other person in some way when we are cross with them.  Words that hurt and not words that heal a situation.

We really nearly always speak out without thinking of what we are saying, or what we need to be saying.  Maybe because we speak out quickly wanting to get our point across instead of listening properly of what the other person is trying to say.

Let us pray  that God our Heavenly Father will purify our words even today, not only that but our thoughts need to be flawless as well.

(Best I think to pray about that) ?????

* Well I hope we have a lovely Day Today and consider and think about being refined by The Lord in all we do and say *

God Bless You, please pass on to your Christian friends if you would like them to read this today.

Maybe we can say a kind word to someone today.  Amen.

Do you Love Money?

DoveBWhite

1 Timothy: Chapter 6 verses 5 – 6

……, who have been robbed of the truth

and who think that godliness

is a means to financial gain.

But godliness with content is great gain.

*****

This Scripture applies to those who love money, yes we do need money and we have to work to earn it but we must not make it a god in our lives.  Because God supplies all our needs, we cannot think that we can pray  –  please God send me a fortune in money.  Best to read the above Scripture to get a really good meaning of this for our lives today, then get on with our Godly living in the knowledge  that God supplies all our needs, financial or otherwise.

Taken from the book ‘Drink from the Cup’ by J.M.R.Larman

*****

Cornocopia

*****

We must remember that when we trust in God to supply all our needs – it can sometimes be like a Cornucopia which is filled with all good things.

God knows our needs even before we ask or pray about them – but remember He does like us to ask.

Sometime He does not allow some of our requests because being an all knowing God He knows that some things we ask for are not really good for us.

That includes saying –  please God give me a million dollars or a bigger and better car, or house or anything else that you think we can ask for that may not really be good for us!

So what is best to do or pray for then?

Well, we can pray – Dear Lord God our Heavenly Father, please help me, you know what my needs are, I am not sure how best to pray, so please would you send the help I need today and in the days to come.  I thank you that you do know me, please hear my prayer.  Amen.

You see it can sometimes be just a simple prayer, just talk to God in a normal way.

If you don’t feel you can do that –  another way is to pray ‘The Lord’s Prayer’ which includes everything that we need to ask for.

BlueStar Ani

I Pray that God our Father in Heaven supplies all your special needs today and in the future.  Amen

Do you like your Name?

You can of course change it if you like but not a good idea!   Mainly because family love your name or they would not have given it to you.

Also all your friends know you by the name that you have…….

God our Heavenly Father knows our names.

When we become a Christian our Names are written in Lamb’s Book of Life.
