What are Scoffers?

Jude: Verse 18
They said to you,
“In the last times there will be scoffers
who will follow their own ungodly desires”
***
Please help me today God not to follow my own ungodly desires. May your Holy Spirit guide me into all righteousness and truth. Amen.

Well what does it mean to be a Scoffer, what does it really mean in our lives today. In the Dictionary it says “to speak about something in a scornfully derisive way”
So that means if we ridicule a person or a thing we are being a Scoffer, that does not sound like a very nice thing to do, especially about our family members. Or if we ridicule our children or old people, people with disabilities i.e. deformities, deafness, failing eye sight, poor academic schooling.
As a Christian we can be free from being a Scoffer if we choose to not be one, therefore we need not follow our ungodly desires. It is difficult I know not to follow an unholy desire but we do need to think about these things. We need to realize that in Christ Jesus we have been set free if we choose to be.
So here is a Poem that I wrote because it is lovely to feel set free from awful worldly desires – even if it is only now and then that we can Pray this Poem as a Prayer to thank The Lord Jesus that He did come to set us FREE. !!!

I am Free
I am free, Praise The Lord I am Free.
How am I free, free to Laugh.
Free to Sing, free to Walk
Free to run, free to Pray,
Free to talk, free to eat
Free to drink, free to play
I am free, free – Free.
Yes Free to feel the Breeze on my face.
Free to feel the Sand on the Beach,
Free to Swim in the Ocean,
Free to appreciate the Sky
The Beautiful Sunsets.
Free to watch the Lightening in the Thunderstorms,
Free to hear the Thunder.
Yes I am Free to walk with Jesus – with God my Father in Heaven
Free to appreciate the Holy Spirit in my life
Free to receive all my Blessings
From our Heavenly Father.
Yes I am Free because
Jesus is my Lord and Saviour. Amen.

Love each other as Brothers

Hebrews:Chapter 13 verse 3
Keep on loving each other as brothers.
*
Today let us keep that commandment of God to love our Brothers as ourselves. How much more peaceful our day will be when we have no malice or hate in our hearts toward our Brothers and Sisters, just the love of The Lord toward them.
The above was taken from the book ‘Drink from the Cup’ Well – what do you think about loving others as Brothers and Sisters even those that are not very good towards you? I think it is good to pray and ask our Heavenly Father to help us to be nice to them.

Do you know that Jesus is our Brother, If we are a Christian we are part of Gods family, so if we are Brothers and Sisters in Christ that means that yes, we can all Jesus our Brother. That really is an awesome thought don’t you think?

Here is a link you may like to see of the Book that was written for my Family: https://www.amazon.com.au/Jessies-Story-Jessie-Larman/dp/0987207555
I Pray that you have a lovely day and can give a thought to your Brothers and Sisters whether they are Christians or not. How lovely to think of those that have gone before us to Heaven and think about them sometimes with love in our hearts for having known them as part of our family.
May God our Heavenly Father Bless us today as we walk with Jesus and The Holy Spirit.

The Secret Place
Psalm 139 verse 15
My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place.
*
God made us specially in that secret place,
we must be very precious to Him.
Today let us ask if there is anything special
that He would like us to do for Him
instead of asking for something for ourselves.
He must be so pleased when the creatures that He has made
show respect and love for Him and His Kingdom.
Taken from the Book ‘Drink from the cup’
Remember that Jesus was made in that Secret Place in His Mother Mary’s womb, when the Holy Spirit came upon her.
We also were made in our Mothers womb by our earthly Fathers. However God our Heavenly Father could see us and has been with us from the beginning of our conception, it is He that has made us, hoping I am sure that He would like us to accept Him to be our own Heavenly Father.
When we do that then we become a Christian and are very precious to Him.
So what can we do to show Him that we are really pleased to belong to The Kingdom of God.
Let us try to walk in Righteous and Love towards each other, to be more like Jesus who had compassion on all who came to Him.
We can walk in the Secret Place each day with the Love of God and Fellowship with The Holy Spirit who is our Comforter and Guide. He lives in us and walks with us each day of our lives in that Secret Place in our Hearts.
So what can we do for Jesus today?
We could ask God to Bless all who come before us today – that would be one nice thing that we could do.
* May God Bless You Today as you Walk and Talk with Him
through the Holy Spirit of Jesus * Amen.

Thank God for His Grace
This is a Pen and Ink Drawing of ‘St. George’s Church’ by J.Larman
John: Chapter 4 verse 22
Samaritans worship what you do not know;
we worship what we do know,
for salvation is from the Jews.
*
Jesus said the above and it is true, so we do need to pray for the Jew’s and thank God for His Grace that He receives us Gentiles into Salvation. Let us be thankful today for the incredible love of Our Father in Heaven.
So the above gives us food for thought – as most people think it not necessary to pray for the Jews. We must remember that a lot of them are not Christians, they do need our Prayers. Yes the Jew’s are God’s chosen people but many have rejected Jesus and that is very sad as they do not recognize Him as their Saviour and Lord of Lords.
We are very fortunate that God our Heavenly Father accepts us Gentiles into Salvation when we acknowledge Jesus Christ His Son to be Lord of our lives and invite Him into our Hearts. And what a Blessing that He allows His Holy Spirit to be with us – Praise The Lord.
So: Let us submit ourselves afresh today to Our Father in Heaven.
Let us walk in the Love of Jesus
and
in Fellowship with The Holy Spirit.
*
May God Bless us today.
Have a Lovely Day walking in the Love of The Lord.
*
We are not alone.
John: Chapter: 16 verse 31
……..Yet I am not alone, for my Father is with me.
…
As Christians we know that God our Father is with us.
When Jesus went back to Heaven He sent His Holy Spirit to be with us – to teach, comfort and also to fellowship with us.
Where The Holy Spirit is, there also are The Father and The Son.
Just think how blessed we are – we are never alone!
From ‘Drink from the Cup’ book., by J.M.R.Larman.
…..
So if you are feeling lonely today, stop and think for a while, make a cup of coffee, tea or a favourite drink. Then sit quietly and thank The Lord for all the Blessings that He has allowed and is giving us each day.
Let us think do we have food and shelter, are we blessed with a Husband, Wife and children or good friends or even a special Pet that we can rely on and talk to when we need help or a shoulder to cry on.
Well we may have so many Blessings that is is difficult to count them all and yet………we still feel lonely.
Why oh! why do we feel like that ?……
While we sit quietly let us remember that Jesus must have felt very lonely at times when people did not understand Him. Sometimes He went off to a special place to pray on His own to His Father in Heaven until He felt better about things…….Jesus who’s Father is in Heaven is also our Father who we can go to at any time of the day or night if we are a Christian.
So let us try not to be lonely today, talk to The Holy Spirit and ask Him to comfort you and guide you out of that feeling of loneliness into the Joy of The Lord. Maybe put on some cheerful music – remember we need the Spirit of Praise for the Spirit of Heaviness. Then the spirit of loneliness will begin to go away and we can get on with our day in a cheerful way.
Maybe have another Cuppa!!!!!!!!!!!!
* Have a lovely Day Today *

Be Holy
The above is an ‘Oil Painting” of a Vision that someone had.
*
Leviticus: Chapter 19 verses 1-2
The LORD said to Moses,
Speak to the entire assembly of Israel and say to them:
‘Be holy because –
I, The LORD your God, am Holy.’
*
Today we need to be reminded of this – we need to be holy because the LORD our God is Holy. How can we do this you may well ask? Possibly in lots of ways but one thing we can do, is to try to keep ourselves from the evils of this world.
God has called us to be Holy.
That means we are set aside for Him. Let us try to stay that way for The LORD our God each day.
*
The above is taken from book ‘Drink from the Cup’ by. J.M.R. Larman.
We can only take one day at a time while we live on this earth to try to be Holy.
We are not that clever to be able to do this by ourselves.
We need the help of The Holy Spirit to help guide us each day.
Really when you think about it this can only happen if we are a Christian, so we best become one and get on with it.
So, you may say that is not very holy to talk like that but it is the truth and in the Bible it says ‘the truth will set you free’ Therefore for us to be holy it is an on going thing. We don’t like to not be able to do some of the worldly things. However, we should really try to obey the Ten Commandments that were give to Moses. If you are not sure what they are they can be found in your Holy Bible……if you do not happen to have one…….then maybe look on Google because there you can find most things.
Today let us hopefully not get really cross with anyone and upset them, let us not swear or steal or commit different kinds of crime. Let us try to love our neighbour as ourselves (that is one of the Commandments) I am not going to list them here because if you want to be Holy then it is up to you to try, no-one else can do that for you.
Please let us remember to Pray and ask God our Heavenly Father to allow The Holy Spirit to help us as we walk in truth and love with Jesus our Lord.
* I pray that you have a lovely Holy Day today *

Let your Light Shine !
Luke: Chapter 8 verses 16-17
No-one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar
or
puts it under a bed.
Instead, they put it on a stand,
so that those who come in can see a light.
For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed
and nothing concealed
that will not be known
or brought out into the open.
*
So therefore Jesus said in Matthew: Chapter 5 verse 14.
* You are the Light of the world *
*
What do you think of that then? As Christians we really are the light in the World. With The Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ our Lord in us we can spread the Light of the World.
We are not to hide our Light under a bushel, under a bed, under anything at all, we have to let our light shine whether people like it or not.
So how do we do that then?
Well – if we have any sort of talent we are to use it for the Glory of God our Heavenly Father.
He has given us our talents – it maybe cooking, hospitality, knitting, woodwork, painting, all kinds of artist talents, gardening, writing etc., as well as whatever employment we are involved in to support our family and ourselves.
Also helping others, encouraging others, especially our family, friends and our Church Congregation. Volunteering is another talent we can use in our community so that people will be blessed.
Remember that as you bless others – you too will be blessed.
Blessing others – that is giving God Glory.
Also thank Him that He enables you to use the Talents that He has given you.
How much nicer it is to do any of the above with a smile and a willing heart.
That really will be letting our Light Shine for The Lord.
* I pray that God our Heavenly Father will Bless you today with the Love of Jesus *
Have a lovely Day.
