Love Disciplines (Corrects) !
Proverbs 13 verse 24
He who spares the rod hates his son
but
he who loves him is careful to discipline him.
***
This does not mean that we should go about hitting our children with a rod until they cower before us. It does mean that we must discipline them in a way that they will understand not to do that bad thing again.
As children of God did you know that God disciplines us?
Because He loves us He is constantly correcting us, that is how it should be with us and our natural children.
They must not be allowed to do just as they like, when and how they like, neither can we in God’s Kingdom.
Today let us rejoice that Our Father in Heaven loves us so much that He disciplines us with love.

Faithfulness ?

Psalm 115 verse 1
Not to us, O LORD,
not to us but to Your Name for the Glory,
because of Your love and faithfulness.
*****
I give you the glory today O LORD because of your love and faithfulness to me,
I thank you for all your blessings to me,
I am so blessed by you and by Jesus and by your Holy Spirit.

So what does faithfulness mean then?…………. It could be that we are trustworthy, loyal to each other. Also it could mean to keep a promise – to be faithful to the one we made a promise to.
So, have we made a promise to God our Heavenly Father by inviting Jesus into our life. If so we need to be faithful and give God the Glory that He sent His Son Jesus to be our Saviour while we are on this earth.
What a privilege to be a Christian to share in God’s love for us and His faithfulness towards us.
Then to give Him the Glory for all our Blessings – large or small – for we are truly Blessed.

Keep Watch
Matthew: Chapter 24 verse 42
Therefore keep watch,
because you do not know
on what day your Lord will come.
***
How do we keep watch?
Well – I believe that to keep watch is to try to be ready,
to have our house in order.
That is to say – have our hearts prepared,
ready and waiting just incase it is today
– that Jesus comes.

You can use this book year after year. It has recently been republished to go on the internet – I have been using this little book daily for at least 20years and each day there is something special for us to read and to know. Praise The Lord!
Let us continue to prepare out hearts while we wait for Jesus to come back to this Earth, that means me as well. Let us get rid of all unholy things that are in there. Like jealousy, hate, gossip, bitterness, strife, lies, covetousness, the list goes on and on, lets get rid of them and Praise The Lord ! We should then be more ready if today is the day that The Lord Jesus comes for us.
None of us can live forever on this Planet Earth, let us enjoy our life while we are here – remember we have The Holy Spirit to help us to overcome whatever it is we need to overcome. We have the love of Jesus with us and we have our Heavenly Father who hears all our prayers.
So let us Rejoice for – This is the day that The Lord has made –
let us Rejoice and be glad in it.

What are Scoffers?

Jude: Verse 18
They said to you,
“In the last times there will be scoffers
who will follow their own ungodly desires”
***
Please help me today God not to follow my own ungodly desires. May your Holy Spirit guide me into all righteousness and truth. Amen.
‘Taken from the Book ‘Drink from the Cup’
***
Well what does it mean to be a Scoffer, what does it really mean in our lives today. In the Dictionary it says “to speak about something in a scornfully derisive way”
So that means if we ridicule a person or a thing we are being a Scoffer, that does not sound like a very nice thing to do, especially about our family members. Or if we ridicule our children or old people, people with disabilities i.e. deformities, deafness, failing eye sight, poor academic schooling.
As a Christian we can be free from being a Scoffer if we choose to not be one, therefore we need not follow our ungodly desires. It is difficult I know not to follow an unholy desire but we do need to think about these things. We need to realize that in Christ Jesus we have been set free if we choose to be.
So here is a Poem that I wrote because it is lovely to feel set free from awful worldly desires – even if it is only now and then that we can Pray this Poem as a Prayer to thank The Lord Jesus that He did come to set us FREE. !!!

I am Free
I am free, Praise The Lord I am Free.
How am I free, free to Laugh.
Free to Sing, free to Walk
Free to run, free to Pray,
Free to talk, free to eat
Free to drink, free to play
I am free, free – Free.
Yes Free to feel the Breeze on my face.
Free to feel the Sand on the Beach,
Free to Swim in the Ocean,
Free to appreciate the Sky
The Beautiful Sunsets.
Free to watch the Lightening in the Thunderstorms,
Free to hear the Thunder.
Yes I am Free to walk with Jesus – with God my Father in Heaven
Free to appreciate the Holy Spirit in my life
Free to receive all my Blessings
From our Heavenly Father.
Yes I am Free because
Jesus is my Lord and Saviour. Amen.

Doing Good !
This is one of my “Oil Paintings”
*
3 John: verse 11
Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil but what is good.
Anyone who does what is good is from God.
Anyone who does what is evil has not seen God.
Today let us not grow weary of doing good! That is a word The Lord gave me when I got a bit fed up one day and thought – what is the good of trying to help whoever it was. Then the quiet voice of The Holy Spirit said “Jessie never weary of doing good” so I pass that on to you today, please don’t grow tired of doing good. God is Good, He is Love, He is all goodness. He is the LORD!

Well the thing is – what can we do today that will be good? One of the best things of course is to Pray. But that is not what I mean, what I mean is what can we do to help someone, there are so many people that need help in the world. However our family should come first in all things.
Sometimes they make us cross by doing things that we would prefer they don’t do, especially any children that we are looking after. They can be a real trial at times. We do have to look after them though and not get fed up seeing to them. One other thing is to be good to our Parents and Grandparents, all older people should be able to find that we have time to talk to them. Some are very lonely and we can do some good today even just to say ‘Hello’ to them.
Remember you may be the only person that speaks to them today, so why not smile and say ‘Hello’ – no need to stand and talk if you are not sure what to say but just a greeting for them to hear will be a blessing that you can give.
A good thing to do is to say ‘God Bless you, have a good day’ to someone while out shopping or travelling.
So today I would like to say to you –
*’God Bless You, have a really lovely Day Today’*

Let those who love The LORD hate evil,
for He guards the lives of His faithful ones

the hand of the wicked.

Today is a good day to not do anything that is evil, that is let us try not to do any bad thing today. I know that it is very difficult sometimes not to use swear words, or to shout at our loved ones or to make someone cry! Let us try to be kind today. Let us be kind to those that The Lord brings before us. It may be a stranger that we meet while shopping or travelling on our holiday.
If we can help someone without expecting anything in return that is good.
Anything that is good is not evil in the sight of God our Heavenly Father.
God our Heavenly Father protects us wherever we go i.e. down the street, or next door to neighbours, on holiday, or in the workplace just about anywhere. But we loose that protection if we go and join in where evil lurks. God will chastise us, remember He is our Heavenly Father – we are His children, so like our earthly Father would choose to chastise us so will He. (Not a good feeling if we have done wrong when we belong to the Kingdom of God).
There we are then – just a thought that we may like to consider, so that we can continue to have the protection for ourselves and our families. Today and always.
* God Bless You Today – Have a lovely Joyful day *

We are not alone.
John: Chapter: 16 verse 31
……..Yet I am not alone, for my Father is with me.
…
As Christians we know that God our Father is with us.
When Jesus went back to Heaven He sent His Holy Spirit to be with us – to teach, comfort and also to fellowship with us.
Where The Holy Spirit is, there also are The Father and The Son.
Just think how blessed we are – we are never alone!
From ‘Drink from the Cup’ book., by J.M.R.Larman.
…..
So if you are feeling lonely today, stop and think for a while, make a cup of coffee, tea or a favourite drink. Then sit quietly and thank The Lord for all the Blessings that He has allowed and is giving us each day.
Let us think do we have food and shelter, are we blessed with a Husband, Wife and children or good friends or even a special Pet that we can rely on and talk to when we need help or a shoulder to cry on.
Well we may have so many Blessings that is is difficult to count them all and yet………we still feel lonely.
Why oh! why do we feel like that ?……
While we sit quietly let us remember that Jesus must have felt very lonely at times when people did not understand Him. Sometimes He went off to a special place to pray on His own to His Father in Heaven until He felt better about things…….Jesus who’s Father is in Heaven is also our Father who we can go to at any time of the day or night if we are a Christian.
So let us try not to be lonely today, talk to The Holy Spirit and ask Him to comfort you and guide you out of that feeling of loneliness into the Joy of The Lord. Maybe put on some cheerful music – remember we need the Spirit of Praise for the Spirit of Heaviness. Then the spirit of loneliness will begin to go away and we can get on with our day in a cheerful way.
