Do we have Patience Today?

This is a good illustration of having patience while waiting for the River to Flow.
*
Psalm 40 verse 1
I waited patiently for The LORD;
He turned to me and heard my cry.
*
I pray LORD that I may always wait for you and that you will hear my cry,
wherever I may be at any time here on this earth.
I pray that The LORD hears your cry today
for what ever your needs may be.
Also that you may have peace in your heart today. Amen.
Taken from the Book ‘Drink from the Cup’
Yes we do need to Pray.
Well we do need to have patience even to pray sometimes,
because time gets away from us and we think we will wait until a later time.
Then we find that the day has gone and we did not find that (later time) to pray.
If only we could start the day off with a prayer how much better our day may be.
It does take patience to let go of other things we would like to be doing
and to just sit and pray for a while.
Even five or ten minutes to start with if you are not used to sitting alone and having a quiet time instead of rushing about to get things done.
After all most things will not run away they will still be there waiting for us to do.
Unless of course there is something really urgent that needs to be done then we must get on and do it.
*

I like to think of this Painting that I painted as The Dove of Peace.
*
We do need peace in our hearts most times when we find the patience to sit and pray.
The Lord God gives us patience and peace when we are going through a difficult situation.
But the thing is we do need to ask Him.
Also He will comfort us when we do cry out to Him.
Jesus taught us to pray His special Prayer ‘The Lords Prayer’
Which is best to pray if you are not sure how to pray because that
covers all that we need.

Choose to Love Others

St. Luke: 6 verse 32
If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you?
Even sinners love those who love them!
*****
That’s true isn’t it! But as Christians we are meant to love the unlovely, just as Jesus did – to help them, befriend them, most of all to show them the love of Jesus. Even in our own families there are relatives that we feel we cannot be with for long, we have to overcome that feeling and remember God made them and we are not only to tolerate them but to love them. It can be a bit of a problem that Scripture but remember we are to overcome and nothing is impossible with God. So we had better ask Him for His grace to help us. It’s amazing what happens when we ask His help.

*****
At this particular time where most of us have to stay indoors or isolated because of the Corona Virus the above reading is worth thinking about – because lots of families will be shut in together and will miss the freedom of going out to work or play.
It may be difficult to all get along together at close quarters for the 14 days that our Government wants us to do.
But it is the best thing that we can do to help our family and friends also our work mates or colleagues.
So let us do it with a good grace remembering that it is not as bad as what Jesus had to endure for us.
I Pray that you all keep well and happy at this present time and will be able to help where needed if someone less fortunate than yourself needs help for shopping etc., if they are incapacitated or isolated with no family to help them.
May GOD BLESS YOU and keep you and your love ones safe.

Shall we Gossip Today?

Birds are Beautiful and I am quite sure that they do not know what it means to Gossip! They seem to talk to each other in their own Bird Language.
***
Here is a quote from the Holy Bible:
Proverbs: 11 v 13
A gossip betrays a confidence but a trustworthy man keeps a secret.
***
We know that only with the help of Jesus can we truly keep a secret. Please help us Lord not to gossip, curb our tongue please and let your Holy Spirit speak through even my tongue today. Amen.
Taken from the Book: ‘Drink from the Cup’ by J.M.R. Larman.

Let us be like the Dove of Peace when we talk to our friends and neighbours to give them good news and try not to gossip about our friends today. Let us show kindness to others by listening to them and allow them to feel sure that we can keep their secrets if that is what they would like us to do.
As we talk to others we should feel secure that they in turn will not go about telling people of our problems however big or small they may be. It is good to have a special friend who we can confide in, to laugh with, to cry with and be comfortable with to share our special needs with.
It is especially good if the friend who we can confide in is a Christian, then we can ask them to pray with us asking the Holy Spirit to help us to pray for any special needs that we have at time. Also knowing that between us our prayers may be confidential and hopefully effective if we are truly praying them from our heart.
So there we are – let us try our best not to Gossip today but to enjoy the company of our friends and family talking about many other interesting things, walking in the love of Jesus asking him to put a curb on our tongue to talk and walk in a Christian way.

I Pray that God will Bless You and your family and friends today with the Love of our Lord Jesus. Amen.

What are Scoffers?

Jude: Verse 18
They said to you,
“In the last times there will be scoffers
who will follow their own ungodly desires”
***
Please help me today God not to follow my own ungodly desires. May your Holy Spirit guide me into all righteousness and truth. Amen.
‘Taken from the Book ‘Drink from the Cup’
***
Well what does it mean to be a Scoffer, what does it really mean in our lives today. In the Dictionary it says “to speak about something in a scornfully derisive way”
So that means if we ridicule a person or a thing we are being a Scoffer, that does not sound like a very nice thing to do, especially about our family members. Or if we ridicule our children or old people, people with disabilities i.e. deformities, deafness, failing eye sight, poor academic schooling.
As a Christian we can be free from being a Scoffer if we choose to not be one, therefore we need not follow our ungodly desires. It is difficult I know not to follow an unholy desire but we do need to think about these things. We need to realize that in Christ Jesus we have been set free if we choose to be.
So here is a Poem that I wrote because it is lovely to feel set free from awful worldly desires – even if it is only now and then that we can Pray this Poem as a Prayer to thank The Lord Jesus that He did come to set us FREE. !!!

I am Free
I am free, Praise The Lord I am Free.
How am I free, free to Laugh.
Free to Sing, free to Walk
Free to run, free to Pray,
Free to talk, free to eat
Free to drink, free to play
I am free, free – Free.
Yes Free to feel the Breeze on my face.
Free to feel the Sand on the Beach,
Free to Swim in the Ocean,
Free to appreciate the Sky
The Beautiful Sunsets.
Free to watch the Lightening in the Thunderstorms,
Free to hear the Thunder.
Yes I am Free to walk with Jesus – with God my Father in Heaven
Free to appreciate the Holy Spirit in my life
Free to receive all my Blessings
From our Heavenly Father.
Yes I am Free because
Jesus is my Lord and Saviour. Amen.

Walk in Love

2 John: Chapter 1 verse 6
And this is love: that we walk in obedience to His commands. As you have heard from the beginning, His command is that you walk in love.
***
Yes you are a God of Love and to love you means just what the above verse says – that we walk in obedience to your ways. We can only do that when we have invited Jesus into our lives and we live in your Kingdom on this earth. Praise you Heavenly Father that you enable us to walk in obedience today.

It may seem odd to think that to walk in Love with the Lord is to walk in Obedience to Him. The only way really that we can do that is to read our Holy Bible to see how! It is good to read part of the Bible each day – part of the New Testament of course but not to neglect reading part of the old Testament. Just a small bit each day is better than not at all. You could of course read one of the Psalms sometimes for something different to read. It is always special to find a quiet time during the day to sit and read even a few verses of a Psalm.
I hope you have a lovely day trying to walk in Love with your family and friends so that you know that you are walking in Obedience with God – because that shows that you Love Him our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ our Lord and The Holy Spirit. (The Holy Spirit will help us to be obedient if we ask Him to)
